  COURSE OBJECTIVES


Basic knowledge about robotic surgery and parts of the Da Vinci surgical robot will be given. Its components will be introduced and preparation will be shown. Arm drapes, robotic instruments, their preparation, connection and sterilization will be presented. Task of the robotic surgery operating room nurse will be discussed. Instruments, equipments and sutures used for each procedure will be presented.

  

  COURSE CONTENT

 

  • Presenting components of the Da Vinci surgical robot:
    • Patient cart
    • Vision cart
    • Console
  • Preparation of the surgical robot
  • Preparation of the robotic ports
  • Draping robotic arms
  • Introducing robotic surgical instruments
  • Introducing robotic 3D lenses
  • Connection of cables used (monopolar, bipolar and optical)
  • Energy settings
  • Using Airseal
  • Task of the bedside nurse during the robotic surgical procedures
  • Troubleshooting
  • Removing drapes
  • Robot docking & undocking
  • Emergency undocking
  • Preparation of ICG
  • Robotic instruments for different robotic procedures
  • Sterilization of the robotic instruments
  • Instruments, equipments and sutures used for each procedure will be presented.
  • Observation of robotic surgical procedures in the operating room.

 

  EDUCATIONAL METHODS

 

  • Live case observation in the operating room
  • Training on the Da Vinci Xi robotic simulator
